Minnie Mouse is a 7-month-old female Chihuahua that presented to us for a spay. Because of her outstanding whiz and high energy level, she managed to take off the Elizabeth collar that was preventing her from licking the incision. This resulted in a superficial infection and inflammation at the incision. Instead of just depending on drugs to take care of the problem, we also recommended the use of cold LASER therapy. This would help increase the blood flow to the affected area thus delivering vital components and cells needed to speed up the healing process. It took less than a week of treatment and the owner could see significant improvement on Minnie. And the best thing of all is that it only took a couple of minutes per session and all this while she was awake and being petted by the owner.
